Selected fixtures, including the women’s championship final, will also air on CBC television. The full television schedule has not yet been released.

For Blitz supporters, the deal closes a gap that defined the inaugural season. The franchise is based in Brampton but the tournament is staged at BC Place in Vancouver, roughly 3,400 kilometres away. Season 1 was available through a patchwork of international broadcasters. Season 2 will be free to watch in Ontario, and everywhere else in the country, on any device that runs CBC Gem.

What the deal covers

Canada Super 60 Season 2 runs from September 29 to October 4 at BC Place, with 24 matches across men’s and women’s divisions over six days. Each match is played over ten overs a side and lasts roughly 90 minutes.

Six franchises contest the men’s competition: Brampton Blitz, Mississauga Masters, Montréal Royal Tigers, Toronto Sixers, Vancouver Anchors and Whiterock Warriors.

League chairman and founder Abhishek Shah described the partnership as a vote of confidence in the competition, and said the reach of CBC and CBC Gem would allow families and communities across the country to follow the tournament.

Chris Wilson, executive director of sports and Olympics at CBC Sports, linked the agreement to cricket’s return to the Olympic programme at Los Angeles in 2028, and said carrying both men’s and women’s matches would serve established supporters and newcomers alike.

The league has committed to equal treatment of the women’s competition, and CBC’s decision to place the women’s final on television rather than streaming alone reflects that.

Why it matters for Brampton

The Blitz enter Season 2 as defending men’s champions, having won the inaugural title at BC Place last October. The squad confirmed at the July draft is led by marquee signing Jonny Bairstow, with wildcard picks Martin Guptill and James Vince returning from the championship campaign.

Five Canadian players are in the 15-man roster: Dillon Heyliger, Yuvraj Samra, Rishiv Joshi, Finley Dixon and Ajayveer Hundal. Until now, the domestic audience for those players has been limited. A national free-to-air platform changes the arithmetic for every Canadian cricketer in the competition, and for the pathway the league has said it wants to build.

It also changes the stakes for the franchise. A title defence watched by a handful of subscribers is a different proposition from one watched by anyone in the country with an internet connection.

Season 2 at a glance

Detail

Information

Dates

September 29 to October 4, 2026

Venue

BC Place, Vancouver

Format

Ten overs per side, approximately 90 minutes per match

Matches

24 across men’s and women’s divisions

Streaming

Every match, free, on CBC Gem

Television

Selected matches on CBC, including the women’s final

Tickets

Available through Ticketmaster

Provincial support for the tournament continues.
